Enhanced Water Quality

AWTS processes wastewater through multiple treatment stages, including aeration, which improves water quality, making it suitable for irrigation and reducing environmental impact.

Efficient Breakdown of Waste

The aeration process promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria, enabling faster and more effective breakdown of organic matter compared to traditional septic systems.

Flexibility for Various Applications

AWTS is versatile and can be customized for residential, commercial, or industrial use, accommodating a wide range of property sizes and waste volumes.

Eco-Friendly and Sustainable

By recycling treated wastewater for reuse, AWTS reduces water wastage and promotes sustainable practices, making it an environmentally conscious choice.

Eco-Septic "Aerated Wastewater Treatment System "

Our wastewater treatment systems will efficiently recycle all of your waste water, so that you can use it twice, saving money and helping the environment.

We have been delivering high-quality Aerated Water Treatment System’s (AWTS) to happy customers for many years, from suburban homes to large businesses and factories.

Our most popular system is our single tank solid concrete tank which, with a capacity of 10,000 litres per day, is the ideal household sewage treatment system. Of course, should you need something larger for your property, we can manufacture exactly what you need.

We can also tailor a more adequate sized system for larger premises such as hotels and offices.

Our systems are made of reinforced concrete and don’t contain any plastic components, making them ideal for bush fire prone areas. We  ensure that all our systems are extremely energy efficient. As an example, the blowers only use on average 43 watts of energy.

With an ECO-SEPTIC AWTS, you can enjoy an environmentally friendly solution to your waste water problems, saving energy and reducing your household bills  at the same time.

Q. Do i need to pump out the waste like a normal Septic Tank?
A. They generally don’t require to be emptied by trucks for years as the bacteria breaks down the waste, and the wastewater pumped out is much cleaner and better quality than normal passive septic tanks.

When you choose an AWTS as a solution to treat your liquid waste, you get several benefits.

  • ECO-SEPTIC AWTS is economically and environmentally friendly.
  • With an AWTS, you can pay for your water bills once and use the water twice.

How ?

  • By converting all your liquid waste into colourless and odourless water to be used in watering your garden. Your lawns and plantation will become greener and your crop yield will increase.

Finally, and the most significant advantage of AWTS,

  • An AWTS uses a natural processes in purifying the liquid waste so that it can be used again according to purpose.

How it works

Easy step

The Aerated Wastewater Treatment System (AWTS) processes wastewater in several stages: primary treatment (settling of solids), secondary treatment (aeration to promote bacterial breakdown of organic matter), and final treatment (clarification and disinfection). Treated water is then safely dispersed or reused for irrigation, depending on local regulations.

A wastewater flow diagram for an Eco-Septic system, suitable for both domestic and commercial use, shows septic, aeration, clarification, and chlorination zones. It includes AWTS components like air blowers, an electric box, a chlorine dispenser, and a submersible pump with a float switch. Arrows indicate flow direction.
Step 1 Primary Treatment (Settling Tank)

Raw effluent enters the first tank/chamber where the solids settle to the bottom.

Step 2 Aeration (Secondary Treatment)

The liquid effluent then flows into the second chamber where it is mixed with air so bacteria can eat more of the solids in the liquid.

Step 3 Clarification

From here the effluent flows into a third chamber where the solids still in the liquid will settle at the bottom. These solids will be sent back to the first chamber. The wastewater flows into the last chamber where it is treated with a disinfectant, usually chlorine.

Step 4 Effluent Disposal or Reuse

The treated water is then discharged safely into a designated area, such as an irrigation field, or reused in compliance with local guidelines.

What is an AWTS?

In areas that do not have access to direct sewer lines, the proper utilisation and treatment of wastewater is essential. This is for preservation of public health and the surrounding environment. To is how the AWTS was developed.

Aerated Wastewater Treatment System, or AWTS, is a system of treating water for the purpose of improving the quality of wastewater to make it suitable for second use such as irrigation, garden and lawns, industrial water supply, including being discharged to the environment without harming it.

The liquid waste may originate from a single household or several residences or complex offices and result from use of water from sinks, baths, laundry, showers, toilets, and the like. These sewage and grey water flow directly to the AWTS tank, which we usually install underground, so the only parts visible are the and the control panel.

Compared to a septic tank, the Aerated Wastewater Treatment System by ECO-SEPTIC removes more solid matters. Thus, it is not likely that you will experience clogging problems within the disposal system. Also, the additional treatment which is done in the second or aeration chamber results in the effluent with small number of harmful bugs, so it doesn’t do damage to the environment.

At ECO-SEPTIC, we offer modern aerated wastewater treatment systems (AWTS) to perform superior wastewater processing. These are an environmentally-friendly alternative to septic tanks where waste is digested by naturally-occurring bacteria.

Maintaining the Aerated Wastewater Treatment System

While a AWTS provides significant advantages, some things should be remembered in relation to maintenance. It is important to ascertain that your system works properly and to avoid issues, breakdowns, and blockages.

As in other household systems, all septic plants require periodic wastewater treatment maintenance. The service includes regular checks on all the elements of the system and pumping out of the tank every few years. AWTS are more complex than a concrete septic tank. It is a requirement by the Health Department and local councils that all components of the treatment plant be inspected on a quarterly basis to maintain its integrity. This means that the homeowner or business manager will have to schedule an appointment with the service team at Eco-Septic for servicing every three months.

At Eco-Septic we will arrange a date and time of the service when you book your maintenance call.

If problems with your AWTS are encountered before the scheduled date, don’t worry, we have available technicians on hand to help fix the problem and provide advice. After the servicing, we will monitor the quality of the treated water to ensure it passes requirements set out by the Health authorities. Our service agents are based right across the country to service all areas on the east coast of Australia.

When maintained properly, your Aerated Wastewater Treatment System by ECO-SEPTIC will serve you for many years to come. Contact us to schedule a maintenance service for your AWTS.
